Why It’s Necessary to Improve Team Communication      One fantastic group experience I had was actually pretty recent (and in a class with Tracy!). I would say it was a fantastic experience because the peers I was with and I worked great together. We exchanged numbers and met in person a lot to work on the project together. We were able to split it up evenly and work well together. There was no miscommunication, and if something came up we spoke about it with each other to get it figured out. Even though conflict can be a good thing, we never had any huge conflict arise between each other. Communication was open with one another, and there was no tension when someone brought up a new idea or added on to someone else's idea. We respected each other's ideas and gave input when needed. Another good group experience was when I was at MATC for a government class. I was paired with 2 guys, so I was a little worried they wouldn’t be that communicative! But we were able to...

The theory I chose is the relational dialectics theory. Relational dialectics is a concept that focuses on the contradictions in relationships. It speaks about tension in the relationship, but when I think of it I have no tension in my relationship, and that is why it is important to remember that dialectics are communicated differently in each relationship. Also that relational dialectics are “a natural part of our relationships and that we have a lot of choice, freedom, and creativity in how we work them out with our relational partners.”       Relationships can have a variety of meanings like romantic, friendly, platonic, family, etc. but in this scenario it involves my romantic relationship with my boyfriend. I definitely relate to the Autonomy-Connection (which refers to our need to have close connection with others as well as our need to have our own space and identity ) because I love spending time with him and having a close connection, b...

Amber Evert           What aspect or aspects of Communication interest you most (intrapersonal, interpersonal, group, public or mass communication) and why?           The aspects of communication I am interested in are interpersonal, and intrapersonal because of the future jobs I am interested in. I think both of these are equally important to have in the workspace. Intrapersonal, because I know I will always need to speak in my own mind to figure out what needs to be done. Figuring out problems in my head. Interpersonal because working as an editor or publisher it is typically an office type setting so you will have many coworkers to communicate with. Or event planning, one of the big aspects of that job is communication. You need to communicate with all of the people who want to plan an event with you. And if you are working through a company, again you need to speak with your coworkers. If you work alone (like as a fre...
